Slow-Growth Initiative and Home Costs, Traffic

A group called “Citizens for Traffic Solutions, No on A” is opposing the slow-growth initiative, Measure A. They know that a large number of voters go to the ballot box with only partial information regarding issues and candidates. Therefore, in an attempt to defeat the initiative for their own special interests, they have attempted to paint Measure A as a traffic initiative rather than as a slow-growth initiative.

If Measure A wins, traffic won’t get much better. However, it won’t get much worse. On the other hand, if Measure A loses, traffic will get much worse since the same rampant development that has existed will continue to place an even greater burden on our roads.

The best solution is to slow the growth of development until new roads and services catch up to the demand that has been unmet for the past several years. Remember, if you favor the Slow Growth Initiative, vote yes on Measure A and don’t let special interest groups mislead you.
