“Remembering” is the operative word for this Memorial Day, as two television productions come along to recall the nation’s veterans.

On Sunday, “To Heal a Nation” (9-11 p.m. on NBC) details the dedicated efforts of a group of veterans to build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. Eric Roberts portrays Jan C. Scruggs, who proposed the idea of the memorial. The difficulties that followed are depicted in this “G.E. Theater” drama that also stars Glynnis O’Connor, Marshall Colt, Scott Paulin, Laurence Luckinbill, Linden Chiles, Lee Purcell, Brock Peters and Gloria Carlin.

Another war and another era--Korea in the ‘50s--is remembered in “Korean War: The Untold Story,” Monday at 8 p.m. on KTTV Channel 11. Four veterans who survived that conflict tell their stories, and Loretta Swit, who starred in TV’s “MASH,” goes to Korea to visit the DMZ (demilitarized zone, separating North and South Korea) to talk with American troops still stationed there.
