A coroner’s official identified the girl as Maria Guerrero of Los Angeles. She had been on life-support systems since she was hospitalized Friday, police said.
The girl was playing with friends in a large pool at the park when the incident occurred about 1:40 p.m. Friday. Lifeguards were administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation when paramedics arrived, said Sgt. Al Murray.
The girl was taken to Saddleback Hospital Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Childrens Hospital of Orange County in Orange. She died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, Murray said.
