Candidate for House Says He’s Homosexual

COLUMBUS, Ohio —
Democratic businessman Michael Gelpi, who is opposing Rep. John R. Kasich in the general election, announced today that he is a homosexual.
“Some people say, ‘Do you want to be honest or get elected?’ I think I can do both,” said Gelpi, the Democratic Party’s endorsed candidate. Kasich, a three-term Republican, had no comment.
