Culver City : Council Plans Letter to Reagan

The City Council Tuesday voted unanimously to support redress for Japanese-Americans interned during World War II by writing a letter to President Reagan asking him to sign redress legislation passed by Congress.

In April, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed separate bills authorizing apologies and $20,000 payments to Japanese-Americans unjustly incarcerated in 1942. Minor variations in the bills must be resolved before they are submitted to the President for his signature.
