An 18-year-old man attending a neighborhood party was wounded in his left forearm early Saturday morning in what police described as a drive-by shooting in Southeast San Diego.

Demmone Williams was treated at San Diego Physicians & Surgeons Hospital for a gunshot wound and released.

Williams told police he was attending the outdoors party near 33rd Street and Imperial Avenue when he heard several gunshots and was struck in the arm shortly after midnight. Friends drove him to the hospital.

Police Spokesman Bill Robinson said none of the partygoers could describe the assailant but investigators did find four spent 9mm shell casings about a block away that could have been used in the shooting.

No arrests had been made, Robinson said, and police were still unsure whether the shooting was gang-related.
