Simon Brown of Jamaica retained his International Boxing Federation welterweight title by knocking down Jorge Vaca of Mexico six times before the referee stopped the fight in the third round at Kingston, Jamaica.

Brown, 23, floored Vaca once in the first round and four times in the second, and knocked him down a sixth time before referee Rudi Battle stopped the fight 2:05 into the third round.

For Brown (27-1), it was the 21st victory by knockout. Vaca dropped to 43-7-1.
