The City Council has cleared the way for construction of the $25-million Richard Nixon Presidential Library next to the wood-frame house where the former President was born 75 years ago.

The council gave final approval Tuesday night for the design of the 84,500-square-foot complex that will include a museum, offices, theater, exhibit room and air-conditioned facilities for storing documents.
