Gloria Vanderbilt’s Son Leaps to His Death in N.Y.

NEW YORK — The son of clothes designer Gloria Vanderbilt leaped to his death Friday from his mother’s 10th-floor penthouse apartment in Manhattan, police said. Vanderbilt was in the apartment when her son, Carter Cooper, 23, jumped to his death, police Sgt. Diane Kubler said. Kubler said no foul play was suspected.
