Some factories in Soviet Armenia will work through this weekend to pay off debts caused by a general strike in a dispute over an Armenian enclave in neighboring Azerbaijan, Soviet media said. But public transport and enterprises in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh remain idled by a work stoppage, news reports said. State-run Radio Moscow said the situation remains tense in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, where residents have been on strike since May 23 to demand the annexation of the region by Armenia. Last week, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet refused to alter the status of the district.
