Hooper, Byrne Carry New Jersey Past Strings

Chip Hooper and Jenny Byrne won their singles matches and also scored in doubles to lead the New Jersey Stars to a 25-15 win over the Los Angeles Strings in TeamTennis competition Sunday at Somerset, N.J.

The Stars are 7-3, the Strings 3-7.

The match had been scheduled for Saturday night but was postponed because of rain. The Strings play tonight at the Forum against the South Florida Breakers.
