Following the recommendations of City Manager Richard R. Powers, the Norwalk City Council will meet more often, convening for work sessions the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The council agreed to the schedule this week, setting an agenda for the 5 p.m. sessions, which will be open to the public.

City spokesman Gary R. Brackle said topics will span a variety of subjects, including gangs, business development, neighborhood preservation, community identity, senior citizen and youth services, and mass transit services.

The work sessions, which double the council’s meeting load, are scheduled to begin next week.
