*** “Sting . . . Nothing Like the Sun: The Videos.” A&M.; $14.98. 26 min. VHS only. One of rock’s most accomplished artists tries to inject the same ambition and sophistication in these five stylish and diverse promotional videos as are found in his music--and were a trademark of the videos by his former band, the Police. He moves from black and white in some to color in others, and from a playful demeanor (“We’ll Be Together”) to melancholy (“Be Still My Beating Heart”). Those who find his albums a touch pretentious may have the same complaint here, but the highlights (“Englishman in New York” and “They Dance Alone”) are artfully designed and quite poignant. This cassette is packaged in a gatefold box that includes lyrics and photos.
