The Montreal Symphony and Frankfurt Radio Symphony will make their first appearances in the county in 1989-90, according to officials of the Orange County Philharmonic Society.

Other concerts for the season announced during the society’s 35th annual meeting Wednesday included return engagements by the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Seattle Symphony.

Erich Vollmer, the society’s executive director, announced negotiations for 1989-90 appearances by soprano Jessye Norman, pianists Murray Perahia and Michael Tilson Thomas, and guitarist Christopher Parkening.

Vollmer said scheduling local engagements of the Los Angeles Philharmonic is becoming increasingly difficult, as the orchestra wants to appear Saturday nights, which are difficult to book at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Still, Vollmer noted, the society will present the Philharmonic three times during the 1988-89 season. Single tickets for 1988-89 will be available in September. For information, call (714) 642-8232.

Also at Wednesday’s meeting, held at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, Vollmer announced that $100,000 was generated from new subscribers last season and that attendance averaged 90% paid capacity.
