Baseball Affliction Poisons Writer’s Pen

Thanks to Jim Murray for his marvelous Cooperstown column. Besides the pure enjoyment of it, it had a great bonus for me.

For some weeks, I’ve been disgusted with Mike Penner’s jeering, cynical and sarcastic Angel stories. Now I understand that he is afflicted with baseball, and is only writing his disappointment in lieu of sobbing. I’ll be more tolerant from now on.
