TV RATINGS--TOPS OF THE NON-RERUNS : Summer TV Drought Lingers

Funnyman Cheech Marin, “227’s” flirtatious Jackee and John Ritter were among the stars of last week’s most popular non-rerun programming. NBC’s “The Cheech Show,” starring Marin and Jackee, was at the top of the Nielsen heap among entertainment shows, ranking 29th with a 9.8 rating and a 21 audience share. And the CBS special “Memories Then and Now,” a magazine show on historical events hosted by Ritter, ranked 32nd with a 9.6 rating and a 17 share.

* The premiere installment of “The Cavanaughs,” a once-cancelled series that returned to CBS with original episodes last week with a dueling-brothers story featuring Art Carney as the despised sibling of feisty Pop Cavanaugh (Barnard Hughes). The episode ranked 52nd.
