Vista
Sheriff’s deputies continued to search Monday for a man suspected of killing an 18-year-old laborer during an argument in a Vista apartment.
The shooting occurred about 10:50 p.m. Friday when Efren Ochoa Garcia, a laborer from Tlaxcala, Mexico, interceded in a fight between Abraham Roque Clemente and an unidentified tenant of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of North Santa Fe Street.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found Ochoa’s body in the driveway. He had been shot once in the upper body, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Investigators are looking for Roque, who they believed was heading toward Mexico in a light blue Toyota truck with a white camper shell.
