A Navy man agreed Thursday to return from Idaho to face charges in San Diego of murdering his estranged wife.

James Lee Jenson, 30, a Navy master at arms, is being held without bail in Boise and faces charges in San Diego of stabbing to death his wife, Tina, in a Miramar Naval Air Station mobile home where their children are staying.

San Diego Detective Bill Nulton said the woman had testified against her husband on a kidnaping charge shortly before the Aug. 22 slaying.

According to Boise authorities, Jenson said he had come to Idaho to visit his mother and father, not to flee prosecution. A Boise magistrate Thursday granted Jenson “a reasonable time to get his affairs in order” before he is returned to California.
