A 26-year-old man died Saturday at 9:40 p.m. when his car failed to negotiate a curve on Oak Glen Road and struck a tree at 50 m.p.h., the California Highway Patrol said. His name has not been released.
The crash occurred north of West Oak Glen Road, between Pauma Valley and Valley Center in North County, a CHP spokesman said.
A passenger, Angel Cisneros, 25, was in serious condition at Palomar Medical Center with a concussion and chest injuries.
Neither were wearing seat belts, the spokesman said.
