A 3-year-old boy missing for three days was dropped off at an Oakland church on Saturday with a note saying: “I’m the little boy who was kidnaped. Please call the police.” Sister Martin de Porres Coleman found Calvin Malek Everfield on the steps of St. Augustine Catholic Church, crying as guests began to arrive for a wedding. The boy’s mother, Harriet Taylor, said Elizabeth Lepley, a woman she has known for six months, asked her if she could take Everfield to a nearby store Thursday afternoon. Taylor said that Lepley, 30, had visited their home frequently and had played with the boy, so she consented. When the boy wasn’t back by Friday afternoon, Taylor called police.
