Already the top-rated network and only days away from having two weeks of Olympic Games coverage in prime time, NBC got additional good news Tuesday when A.C. Nielsen Co. ratings for last week showed the peacock network with seven of the Top 10 prime-time programs. Its telecast of the Miss America Pageant Saturday was the most-watched show of the week, seen in about 20.1 million homes, and the pilot for its new series “Baby Boom” placed third. (The series premieres Nov. 2.) A full list of the Nielsen ratings is on page 9.

* CBS didn’t fare as well with the return of one of its series, the news magazine “48 Hours.” The Thursday night show about smoking placed 65th among the week’s 73 prime-time programs--lower than several series on Fox Broadcasting.
