A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot by a sheriff’s deputy investigating a silent burglary alarm at a Sacramento school. Deputy Jan Zeboski was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into the incident at Clayton B. Wire Elementary School. Deputies said Zeboski ran toward the sound of breaking glass in an exterior hallway and encountered several running boys, including Serrocko James Henry, a high school sophomore. The Henry boy reportedly swung a baseball bat at Zeboski, who fired once. A half dozen windows were found broken at the school. The dead boy’s aunt said the other boys told her that they were taking a shortcut through the school yard and ran because they thought they were being chased by some drunk men.
