REGISTERING TO VOTE
Today is the last day for people wanting to vote in the Nov. 8 election to fill out voter registration forms.
Forms completed by today and mailed in must be received by the county registrar of voters or the secretary of state by Friday.
California law does allow new residents--those who establish residency no later than today--until Nov. 1 to register but those who take advantage of this grace period will be limited to voting in the presidential race only.
The registrar will accept applications for absentee ballots until Nov. 1. In Los Angeles County, requests for absentee ballots should be mailed to the Absent Voters Section, Box 30450, Los Angeles 90030.
