Goodyear’s third-quarter net income fell 64% from a year ago to $63.5 million. Revenue was up 8% to $2.7 billion. The Akron, Ohio, tire and rubber company blamed unfavorable conditions in the U.S. tire business. In addition, last year’s quarter benefited from $8.3 million in income from discontinued operations and unusual after-tax gains of $50.6 million, primarily from the installment sale of the Arizona properties.
