Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian teen-ager and wounded at least 16 other protesters during widespread clashes in the Israeli-occupied territories as Arabs stepped up their violent protests ahead of next week’s general elections. Hospital officials and Arab witnesses said a 16-year-old boy from Nusseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip died after soldiers shot him twice in the chest. The army did not confirm the report. Arab hospital officials said troops also shot and wounded at least 16 protesters in clashes in Gaza City, Khan Yunis, Rafah refugee camp, and in the West Bank cities of Tulkarm, Janin and Nablus. Witnesses said the army also used force to break up a protest march by women and children in Ramallah, north of Jerusalem.
