The unidentified gunman escaped, police said.

Carlos Ortega, 20, and a 17-year-old youth whose name was not released because of his age had each been shot once in the leg, police said. Ruben Marquez, 25, had been shot in the pelvic area, Provence said.

The three men were taken to one or more local hospitals, but police withheld the names of the hospitals.

A fourth victim, Robert Arthur Villasenor, 28, was found by police at a local hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to his side, Provence said.
