Stephen Love--the Beach Boys’ former business manager and younger brother of the band’s lead singer, Mike Love--was sentenced Wednesday to five years probation and ordered to make $86,000 restitution after being convicted Oct. 18 of embezzling more than $900,000 from the group. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gordon Ringer imposed the sentence on Love, who, according to the prosecution, took the funds from proceeds of the sale of a parcel of land in Santa Barbara. Deputy Dist. Atty. Steve Licker also said that, in a settlement of a civil lawsuit that arose from the embezzlement, Love agreed to pay the group back another $410,000.
