From our Department of Iconography: An independent British broadcasting company announced Sunday that it has acquired the rights to--and plans to make a TV movie of--”Margaret Thatcher--The Woman Within,” an upcoming biographical tome about the Iron Lady’s life, times and (presumably) her inner thoughts. No word comes from HTV, a television production company/broadcast outlet centered in Wales and the west of England, on who will play Thatcher, but it seems fairly certain any Thatcher “bio-pic” would be aired via one American broadcaster or another. The book, to be published in Britain next spring, was written by former Thatcher aide Andrew Thomson.
