A brazen thief walked out of the Heckscher Art Museum on Long Island with a multimillion-dollar oil painting by impressionist Edouard Manet during a video show in the same room, officials said today.

They said the theft was discovered by a visitor who had admired the painting, “Bouquet de Pivoines,” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday and then watched the video presentation 15 feet away. He returned about an hour later to take another look but found the 16-by-21-inch canvas missing.
