San Diego Overwhelms Cal Lutheran, 90-64
Steve de Laveaga and Mike Demeter combined to score 39 points--more than half the Cal Lutheran basketball team--but the Kingsmen were defeated by San Diego, 90-64, in a nonconference game Wednesday night at San Diego.
De Laveaga, who is averaging 30 points a game, scored a game-high 21 points and Demeter added 18. But five players--Dondi Bell (17 points), Danny Means (14), Gyland Dottin (13), Craig Cottrell (13) and Wayman Strickland (10)--scored in double figures to lead San Diego.
Cal Lutheran (4-3) plays host to Biola on Thursday night.
