El Cajon
Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman who managed a medical laboratory. Her body was found at the lab Tuesday morning by a co-worker, authorities said.
Police identified the victim as Maria Elizabeth Richardson of the 3400 block of Belle Isle Drive in East San Diego.
Police said they believe Richardson was assaulted, but would not elaborate. The slaying took place between 7 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., police said.
Deputy Coroner Penne Hammerstead said an autopsy will be performed today.
Richardson managed the El Cajon Group Laboratory, a private lab that is attached to a family medical practice at 237 W. Washington Ave., police said.
