Two transients were shot to death as they slept in the gazebo at Crescent Bay Park, just one block from the beach in Santa Monica, authorities said today. The men, one 32, the other 45, were still wrapped in their bedding when they were found in the gazebo at the park at Ocean Avenue and Bicknell Street, Sgt. Barry Barcroft said.
A caller told police about the bodies about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, Barcroft said. The names of the victims were withheld until relatives could be notified, Barcroft said.
