British Athletes to Testify on Doping

LONDON — Linford Christie and Kerrith Brown, both at the center of drug scandals at the Seoul Olympic Games, have been asked to appear before a special anti-doping inquiry set up by the British Olympic Assn.
The BOA launched the inquiry a month ago after Brown had been stripped of his judo bronze medal in Seoul for taking drugs, and Christie, the 100-meter silver medalist and Europe’s fastest sprinter, was cleared after inadvertently taking a banned stimulant.
The BOA is investigating the misuse of drugs in sports to try and ensure that other Britons do not suffer the same problems at future Olympics.
The evidence of both Brown and Christie is expected to provide crucial information for the inquiry.
