A financial planner to prominent Miami physicians, accused of fleeing to Asia with investors’ millions, was ordered held without bond after being described as a “severe flight risk.” Henry Gherman, 52, charged in a federal complaint with mail fraud and embezzlement, was extradited after being jailed since October in Tokyo. Recognized by American tourists at a posh Taiwan hotel, he was held by authorities there until he was taken to Japan by FBI agents.
