Five Los Angeles Rams players and a Santa Ana-based company will donate $13,200 to the “Just Say No” Club program in Orange County after the National Football League playoffs, the team said.

At the start of the season, Rams LeRoy Irvin, Jerry Gray, Johnny Johnson, Vince Newsome and Mickey Sutton pledged $100 each for every interception the team made, said Pete Donovan, the team’s marketing director. First American Title Insurance Co. pledged to match the players’ contributions, he said.

Because the Rams intercepted 22 passes during the regular season, Donovan said, the players will donate $11,000 and First American will kick in $2,200.

“It’s absolutely a tremendous contribution,” said Carol Edmonston, director of the program. The club is composed of 7- to 14-year-olds who are opposed to alcohol and drugs.

The donation will be used for educational purposes and the purchase of “Just Say No” merchandise.
