New York’s Madison Square Garden designated 4 sections containing 412 seats as alcohol-free areas, coming into compliance with a New York State law that goes into effect Jan. 1.
The sections, on the fourth of the arena’s five seating levels, will be alcohol-free for professional basketball and hockey games, as well as tennis matches and boxing and wrestling cards.
Drinking will be allowed during college basketball games and rock concerts.
