ROSE PARADE BUS SERVICE
RTD service to the Rose Parade, at regular fares, will run as follows:
Lines 180 and 181 from Hollywood, Glendale and Eagle Rock will begin expanded service at 3:40 a.m., leaving frequently from Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue until 8 a.m.
Line 260 from Long Beach at Long Beach Boulevard and First Street will run along Atlantic Boulevard leaving at 4:50 and 5:04 a.m., then every 20 minutes until 6:38 a.m. and then approximately every hour until 10:15 a.m.
Line 267 will run from the El Monte station through Temple City and Arcadia every half-hour from 5:30 to 7 a.m., then every hour until 11 a.m.
Line 401 from downtown Los Angeles will leave Venice Boulevard and Olive Street every 40 minutes from 6:40 a.m. to 11 a.m. and frequently thereafter.
Line 420 will begin at the Panorama Shopping Center in the San Fernando Valley, running along Van Nuys, Burbank, Chandler and Lankershim boulevards then onto the Ventura Freeway. This special express service leaves approximately every 20 minutes between 5:06 and 6:37 a.m.
Line 424 will begin at Ventura and Reseda boulevards in the San Fernando Valley, running along Ventura Boulevard through Encino, Sherman Oaks and Studio City, approximately every 20 minutes between 4:58 and 6:28 a.m.
Line 483 from downtown Los Angeles will run along Olive Street, including City Hall, through Alhambra and South Pasadena. It begins service at 2:55 a.m.
Line 485 from downtown Los Angeles, which takes viewers to the midway point of the parade route on Lake Street in Pasadena, begins service at Olive Street and Venice Boulevard at 6:05 a.m.
Late-risers can still see the parade by taking Line 487 from downtown Los Angeles beginning at 7:15 a.m. until about 10:15 a.m. It begins at Wilshire Boulevard and Union Avenue and will drop riders off at Victory Park near the end of the parade route, where the floats will not arrive until about 10 a.m.
For the Rose Bowl game later in the day, Line 483 will also be running a special express service from numerous points along Olive Street downtown, beginning at 9:49 a.m. and running every four to eight minutes until 12:43 p.m. The fare will be $3.50 each way.
The RTD urges bus riders to bring plenty of change because RTD operators do not carry change and do not sell tokens.
