San Diego
Traffic fatalities in 1988 were down slightly from the year before, a San Diego police spokesman said Tuesday.
There were 114 fatalities in San Diego in 1988, spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Of those fatalities, 45 died in vehicular accidents, 35 were pedestrians, 25 were motorcyclists and 9 were bicyclists.
“This is a little less than 1987, during which 118 persons were killed,” Robinson said.
Statistics were unavailable on drunk driving-related fatalities or hit-and-run accidents.
