A documentary on Tijuana, a children’s series on storytelling and a special on the history of black women writers are among the 17 television finalists in the running for funding by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. “The programs selected for funding in this round of CPB’s Open Solicitation address under-served audiences, including children and minorities, and showcase outstanding independent producers,” said fund director Gene Katt. In addition to funding TV projects, CPB also chose 15 radio projects as finalists for its $3.6 million Radio Program Fund.
