STATE : 3-Year-Old Killed in House Fire
A 3-year-old child was trapped by flames and killed today in a fire that swept through a house and spread to an adjacent building in the unincorporated Walnut Hills area near the City of Industry, officials said.
The fire broke out at the house on Flintgate Drive shortly after 10 a.m., Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Chuck Gutierrez said. “The report initially came in on 911 that a person was trapped,” department spokeswoman Esther Witler said. When firefighters arrived, they found the child dead. It was not immediately known whether the victim was a boy or girl. There were no other reports of injuries.
