Thomas Guinness; Former Aviator, Member of Parliament

British businessman Thomas Loel Evelyn Bulkeley Guinness, 82, a former aviator and member of Parliament. Guinness, whose family made its fortune in banking and is related to the Guinness brewery dynasty, was a member of the House of Commons from 1931 to 1945. One of the first people in Britain to own an airplane, Guinness commanded a squadron of fighter planes during World War II, and in 1944 was promoted to wing commander. After the war, he inherited a large fortune from his father and for a time was president of the former British United Airways. In a Houston hospital on Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his Acapulco, Mexico, home on Friday.
