Santa Ana Man Is Hit-and-Run Victim
LAS VEGAS — Authorities have identified a man killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Las Vegas Strip as a security guard from Santa Ana.
The victim, 21-year-old Gary Troy McElroy, was killed Tuesday afternoon when he and his girlfriend were hit by a vehicle.
The girlfriend, 21-year-old Karen Nguyen, was released after being treated for injuries at University Medical Center.
The Nevada Highway Patrol later arrested two people in connection with the incident.
A patrol spokesman said Walter Anielewski was arrested on charges of hit-and-run and felony drunk driving.
Police say a passenger, Terry Force, was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and charged with resisting arrest.
