Failla, Behrens to Meet in Tennis Final
Fifth-seeded Greg Failla of USC and Robert Behrens of UCLA each won two matches Saturday to advance to today’s final of the National Collegiate tennis tournament.
Top-seeded Sandra Birch of Stanford and No. 2 Karen Shin of Cal will meet in the women’s final of the tournament held at the Shadow Mountain Resort and Racquet Club.
Failla, a senior transfer student from Cal State Long Beach, continued his sensational play. After knocking off second-seeded Brian Garrow of UCLA, 6-4, 6-3, in a quarterfinal match, he defeated unseeded Mario Rincon of Kentucky, 6-2, 6-2.
