Cast Changes Announced for N.Y. City Opera Run
Two cast changes were recently announced for the New York City Opera engagement that begins Tuesday at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. According to center officials, Jon Garrison will sing the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” on Thursday, instead of Frederic Kalt. No explanation for the change was given. Garrison also will sing the role Tuesday, as announced.
Garrison had been scheduled to sing Tamino in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote” next Friday. He now will be replaced by Walter MacNeil. MacNeil also will sing the role Wednesday as originally scheduled.
