Ex-Head of Brokerage Raises Digitext Holdings
Patrick J. Rooney, former chairman of the defunct Rooney Pace brokerage firm in New York, has acquired the equivalent of 11.6% of Digitext, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Rooney, a former Digitext director, bought 63,000 common shares between Nov. 22 and Dec. 30 at prices ranging from 46 cents to 81 cents and he owns the equivalent of 573,000 shares. Digitext, based in Thousand Oaks, makes keyboards that rapidly enter text into a computer.
In 1988, Rooney was convicted in U.S. District Court in New York on one count of filing a false income tax return for 1983 and one count of conspiracy related to it.
