A benefit concert at the Royal Opera House in London raised more than $885,000 for the British Red Cross Armenia Earthquake Appeal. Dancers from the Bolshoi and Kirov ballet companies and opera singers from Yerevan, Moscow and Leningrad, flew to Britain to perform with British and American singers and dancers. A videotape of the concert has been sold to 19 countries, including the Soviet Union.
