Body of Shooting Victim Discovered
The body of a man in his early 20s was found Wednesday morning in a grassy area west of Interstate 805 at Palm Avenue, police said. He had been shot in the head.
A passing motorist reported finding the body at about 7:30 p.m., according the the National City Police Department, who notified San Diego police.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting took place at the scene, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
The unidentified Latino man was 5-foot-7 and was wearing light-blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and a gray, long-sleeved sweat shirt with the San Diego State University Aztec emblem on the front. He also had a cross tattooed between his left forefinger and thumb.
