In Brief : Jets Trade Goaltender to Chicago
WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The Winnipeg Jets traded goaltender Alain Chevrier to the Chicago Blackhawks today for future considerations.
Blackhawks’ spokesman Jim DeMaria said Chevrier would join the team in time for Friday’s game at Detroit.
Chevrier was traded to the Jets by the New Jersey Devils last summer for wing Steve Rooney. Chevrier appeared in 22 games for Winnipeg this season and posted a goals-against-average of 4.29. The Jets also recalled defenseman Brad Berry from the Moncton Hawks as an emergency replacement for defenseman Randy Carlyle, who was injured Wednesday night.
