Libya postponed its scheduled World Cup soccer qualifying match against Algeria, citing an alleged threat by the United States to bomb a factory outside Tripoli.

A newspaper in Algiers quoted Libyan representatives as saying the match would be postponed because of security reasons.

The United States claims that the factory at Rabta, 60 miles southwest of the Libyan capital, is used to produce chemical weapons. Libya says the factory makes medicines.
