16 Injured When Car, Bus Collide in Boyle Heights
Sixteen people were injured Sunday, one critically, when a car and an RTD bus carrying 40 passengers collided in Boyle Heights, officials said.
The collision occurred about 1 p.m. on East Whittier Boulevard at Esperanza Street, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.
Thirteen passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries and three people in the car were hurt, including one who was in critical condition, Wells said.
Eight of the injured bus passengers were treated at the scene and the other five were taken to local hospitals, he said.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
